What to ask before you book
Ask whether the advertised check-up includes X-rays, photographs, a scale, and how long the appointment is. New-patient exams are often longer and priced higher than a recall. If a hygienist is extra, get that fee too. NHS Band 1 in England is £27.90 for a clinically necessary exam course — use that as a comparison only if you can actually get an NHS place.
