Compare Invisalign providers

Providers listed here are UK dental practices or online dental providers. Prices are the provider's own published figures where we have verified them — otherwise check the practice directly. Treatment is always subject to clinical assessment.

We have not yet verified live provider prices for this treatment. Use the typical range above and compare practices near you, or check back as more profiles are claimed.

What the price covers

Invisalign is priced as a whole course of treatment: the initial assessment, a digital 3D scan and ClinCheck treatment plan, all your aligner sets, tooth-coloured attachments and any interproximal reduction (light polishing between teeth to create space), in-person reviews every 6–10 weeks, refinement aligners if teeth need fine-tuning at the end, and retainers. Practices bundle these differently — the two items most often excluded are refinements and retainers (Vivera retainers typically £100–£300 per set), so ask specifically. Whitening is sometimes thrown in. The tier a provider quotes reflects how many aligners your case needs, which is why prices can't be confirmed until you've been scanned. All figures here are indicative market ranges, never quotes.

Invisalign vs fixed braces

Fixed braces (metal £1,500–£3,000, ceramic £2,000–£3,500) remain the gold standard for complex movements — large rotations, big bite corrections, tooth extrusion — and they work whether or not you're disciplined, because you can't take them out. Invisalign wins on appearance, comfort and hygiene: aligners are near-invisible, come out for eating and brushing, and dental emergencies like snapped wires don't happen. For mild-to-moderate crowding the clinical results are comparable, so the choice is lifestyle and budget. An honest provider will tell you if your case genuinely needs fixed appliances — get a consultation with a dentist or specialist orthodontist rather than choosing on price alone.

Invisalign vs at-home aligners

At-home clear aligner brands undercut Invisalign at typically £1,100–£1,800 by removing most in-person care: impressions are taken with a home kit or a scan in a shop, and monitoring happens through an app. That model only suits genuinely mild cosmetic cases, and the GDC's position is clear — aligner therapy is dentistry, requiring a proper clinical assessment and a named GDC registrant responsible for your care. With Invisalign you're physically examined first (catching gum disease and decay that must be treated before moving teeth), attachments enable more complex movements, and problems get chairside fixes. If budget is tight, ask practices about Express-tier Invisalign — for small corrections the price gap narrows considerably.

NHS availability and paying for treatment

NHS orthodontics is limited to under-18s who score highly enough on the Index of Orthodontic Treatment Need, and it uses fixed metal braces, not Invisalign — adult NHS orthodontics is approved only in exceptional, usually surgical, cases. So for adults Invisalign is a private cost. Most practices offer payment plans, commonly 0% finance over 12–24 months with a deposit, which spreads a £4,000 case to manageable monthly amounts — check the total repayable and any fees. Consultations are frequently free. As with all treatment on this site: prices are indicative, and whether Invisalign can achieve what you want is a clinical question for a dentist, not a website.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does Invisalign cost in the UK?

Typically £1,500–£5,500: minor corrections £1,500–£2,500, moderate cases £2,500–£3,500, comprehensive treatment £3,500–£5,500. London and city-centre practices tend toward the top of each band. Confirm what's included — especially refinements and retainers — and treat all figures as indicative until you've been scanned.

Can I get Invisalign on the NHS?

No. NHS orthodontic treatment is restricted to under-18s with a qualifying clinical need and uses fixed braces. Invisalign for adults (and for teenagers who don't meet NHS criteria) is private.

How long does Invisalign take?

Minor cases 3–6 months, moderate 6–12 months, comprehensive 12–24 months. Wearing aligners the full 20–22 hours a day is the single biggest factor in finishing on time — every hour they're out extends treatment.

Does Invisalign hurt?

Expect pressure and tenderness for a day or two after each new aligner — that's teeth moving, and it's normal. It's generally less sore than fixed braces and there are no wires to cut your cheeks. Persistent sharp pain isn't normal; contact your dentist if it happens.

What happens if I don't wear my retainers afterwards?

Teeth drift back — orthodontic relapse is the rule, not the exception, regardless of how they were straightened. Plan for nightly removable retainers indefinitely (replaced every year or two at roughly £50–£150 a set) or a bonded wire behind the front teeth, and treat that as part of the true cost of treatment.
